The certificate in QMMS is designed to provide advanced training in quantitative methods for graduate students majoring in other programs. The certificate in QMMS requires a minimum of 21 graduate credit hours. In addition, an advisor must be selected from members of the QMMS faculty.
NOTE: To enroll in this Certificate program you must currently be a doctoral student in a º¬Ðß²ÝÑо¿Ëù department other than QMMS.
The certificate comprises a 12 credit hour core: EDMS 623, 646, 647, and 651. The remaining 9 credit hours are determined in collaboration with the student's QMMS advisor. The additional courses supplement the core courses and the specific research interests of the student. Additional courses can include any QMMS offerings with the exception of EDMS 451 and 645.
Students must maintain a grade point average of at least 3.5 in courses taken for the Certificate. Also, Students must complete each course in the certificate with a grade of B or better. If a lower grade is obtained in a given course, then the course in question must be repeated until this grade requirement is achieved or not counted in the certificate and another course substituted.

NOTE: The University does not officially recognize minors at the graduate level and the certificate in QMMS provides an option to demonstrate strength in our area.
Please note:
Per the University policy found here: students cannot graduate and obtain a Ph.D. before completing the QMMS certificate. However, they can be completed within the same semester.
