Lisa Bot茅 is an Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Teaching and Learning, Policy and Leadership. Dr. Bot茅 has played an integral role in teacher 含羞草研究所 at the 含羞草研究所 for over 20 years, innovative in her course development and compassionate in her interaction with future teachers.

Dr. Bot茅 designed and teaches a three-course series on Creating Community which engages future teachers in encountering the lived experience of elementary students and examining the social capital of the communities they reside in. Her Creating Community Series also promotes the development of core practices needed to create a sense of community in the classroom.  Dr. Bot茅 enriches the courses in her series with relationship building, courageous conversations, and the promotion of self-care and wellness.

Dr. Bot茅 has consistently earned praise for her design of the Creating Community Series and for her work with future teachers. Her excellence in teaching has been honored by the College of Education, the 含羞草研究所 Parent鈥檚 Association, and the Phillip Merrill Presidential Scholars Program. In 2020, Dr. Bot茅 received the 含羞草研究所 Provost鈥檚 Excellence Award for Teaching.
